First Step

One must have the confidence to continue what has been started and try not to rely on the interventions from others.

Some people really have difficulty in introducing themselves to other people.  Maybe it is because they are too shy or afraid that they would be rejected.  As a result, they would be left out in one corner of the room trying to find the guts until they would be consume by the wall behind them.  Little do they know that perhaps those people around him are likewise feeling the same way.  If no one would initiate, then no one would benefit at all.

Sin City

Unlike in Vegas though, there is something worth bringing back and that is the relationship that has developed after the experience.

“What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas.”  Not been there, ok?  It is just that we reminded ourselves that we must exercise this saying or rule upon landing in Batangas for the summer outing of our barkada.  It is my first time to go to this neighboring province and   thinking to keep my mouth shut to share my experience is just a little absurd.  Thus, what happened to, “What happened in Batangas stays in Batangas.”

Of Mice and Cats

“Mahirap paniwalaan na walang kalibugang nangyayari sa isang bahay ng mga malilibog.”

“When the cat is away, the mice will play.”  Iyun ang sabi nila kaso iyung isang mouse pala ang wala, nagbakasyon.  Paano sila makakapaglaro niyan?  Mag-iinvite na lang ba ng ibang mouse iyung naiwan?  Kailangan ba talagang maglaro?  Eh meron pa namang pusa ah.  Hindi lang iisa kundi tatlo pa.  Kung makikipaglaro ang mouse lagot siya tiyak.  Kaibiganin ba niya ang mga pusa at isali na lang sa laro?  Hmmmm…

I could not just play a game that I believe you rule.

Here we go again, lying on your couch pretending to be asleep while you are sitting beside my head with your hands over my abdomen.  I believe that you are drunk because a while ago when we are talking you were just staring at me blankly without even noticing the question I asked and when you replied, I could not put sense about it.  Yes, you are drunk, and I wish I could make my plan work.

Resurrected

After a long time, it reappears in the eagle’s nest showing signs that it is healing.  The eagle spread its wings to welcome the sheep, its eyes watchful.

“Easter eh.  Muling pagkabuhay.”  The Lion said, a very close friend of the Eagle.  A coincidence maybe, because of all the dates the Sheep chooses to reemerge, he chose the eve of Easter.  Like most of the returnees, the Eagle welcome him.

Inch by Inch

Size matters but it does not mean that “big” is essentially the right one.

Every centimetre counts.  When it comes to measurements we would always want to count the fractions.  We do not want to round off.  That means a quarter of an inch is essential especially if we are measuring our body parts.  That fraction of a number could mean something and could affect decisions.  Does that number need augmentation or reduction?

Grizzly Bear

A grizzly bear or other bears may sound tough and animalistic, but there is no consolation if the bear is trapped by his own carelessness.

We found them sitting on one of the fast food’s dining tables. HB walked straight to the counter to order food while I sit beside Jake and Jan who at that time are teasing at each other. Jake was calling Jan ”grizzly bear”, a moniker unfamiliar to me. I wondered how Jake coined the word because never did I hear a nick like that in relation to Jan. I stayed quiet and continued listening to their exchange of words. I keep on hearing the “grizzly bear” from Jake while Jan is telling him that he is just envying him.  Later I found out that the tease was from the context of Jan’s most recent sexual encounter.
